Athletics
I played competitive football from the age of five until early 2026, and captained a programme to the best season in its history.
Captain, Spring Hill College
NCAA, Gulf South Conference. 2020 to 2021
I captained the varsity side in 2020 and 2021. In that period the programme won its first conference championship and reached the NCAA National Tournament for the first time in the school history.
Captaining a squad through a first-ever championship run is a specific kind of management problem. You are not the most talented player on the pitch and it does not matter. What matters is whether the group believes the plan, and whether you hold the standard on the days nobody feels like holding it.
Rome
Seven years in the S.S. Lazio youth system, from ten to seventeen. Daily training alongside school, weekend fixtures, and the standing understanding that your place is never secure.
The rest of it
S.S. Lazio Academy
Joined the youth system in Rome at ten and stayed until seventeen. Academy football at that level runs alongside school as a full-time occupation: daily training, weekend fixtures, and the standing understanding that your place is never secure.
S.V. Brickell
Premier Futbol League, Miami, from April 2022 to January 2026. Vice captain, board member and social chair. The club won the PFL Division II championship and the SoccerFast Cup during that period.
The board role
A semi-professional club is a small organisation with real logistics: scheduling, budgets, sponsorship, registration, equipment and travel. It was closer to my day job than it looks from the outside.
What it left me with
Preparation is most of the result
Matches are decided by work done weeks earlier. So are shipments.
You control the process, not the outcome
Refereeing decisions, weather, customs holds. What you control is whether you did your part properly.
Teams beat individuals
Supply chains are teams that happen to be spread across companies, countries and time zones. The coordination problem is the same one.
